The imminent release of Xbox 360!
I love both my X-Box and Gamecube, but for me, the GC is a clear winner with regards to how much replay I can get. It seemed like whenever I bought a game for my X-Box, I'd spend some time playing it and it would be a great time, but once I beat it, there was really no reason to go back and play it again. The only game I played more than once on the system was KOTOR. Another factor is the fact that I'm currently attending college away from home and I don't have room for a ton of systems. Gamecube, being smaller, has an advantage here. I like the GC controller most, and I, as well as a ton of my friends, enjoy playing GC games more (single and multiplayer).
With that in mind, the next generation of consoles is easily summed up for me. I look forward to the Revolution. It's sad, but that's the only system I care about. I would love to own an X-Box, but I really can't afford to buy one, nor do I think what I would be buying would be worth the cost yet. I still fully plan to get one, but it'll probably happen in a few years, well after some mark-downs and once a game library is built that I can pickily select from. Playstation 3 doesn't have me impressed at all. I'll admit that I liked the graphics in some of the E3 demos, but that's not enough for me to want a system. The new controller *looks* terrible to me. I can't say how I feel about it until I actually use one, but I don't think it looks promising. The machine itself is also pretty gigantic, so X-Box and PS3 really can't be serious considerations of mine until, most likely, near the end of (or after) college, when I have a place of my own.
So there you have it. I'll get X-Box 360 in a few years, Revolution the day it is released, and PS3 a few years after the 360. I don't game enough anymore to be bothered by the fact that I won't have all three. I'm excited about the possibilities that the new Nintendo controller will bring (and somewhat skeptical still). For me, though, it's about the games I like most, which just happen to be made by Nintendo or their second parties. Still if it were possible, I would love to own at least the 360 and Revolution on their release days, but that's just not going to happen.

At the moment I have both an X-Box and a Gamecube (and a lot more, but I'm only talking about the current generation). By default I've never really had any desire for Playstations. I think the main reason for this is the fact that I never liked the Dual Shock controller. If it's not comfortable I don't want to play it. It's actually sort of sad because I love just about every other Sony product.I love both my X-Box and Gamecube, but for me, the GC is a clear winner with regards to how much replay I can get. So the next generation of video gaming is upon us, and Microsoft beat everyone to the gun. The 360, last time I checked, is to be relesed later this month (correct me if I'm wrong). I personally can't wait. I do question how this next stage in the console war will go:-Will PS3's release near Christmas be overshadowed by the 360's release?
-Who will win the graphics battle?
-Will the PS3 and Revolution pack hard disks or still use the primitive card systems?
-Can eithier system compete with the online greatness that the X-box created? Will Nintendo join the net?
-Can Nintendo's great past be relived or will they fall into obscurity?
In case you haven't noticed, I'm partil to the Microsoft systems. They have to money to make the ultra systems, and the money to buy the contracts for games. It may not be fair, I personally have an affinity for Sony products, but I see no point in gaming loyalties. We're all just in it to have fun and play the good games. I just think X-box has more attractive titles. They're sharing the contract with Sony for SquareEnix, they've got Bethesda for Morrowind, Bungie for Halo, and Ubi Soft is racist for making more features on thier X-box versions. Not to mention a slew of up and coming developers. My cards lay on the 360, and some stock if I can get the cash!
What are your thoughts?
