Yay! I have it!

Finally, the original Metal Gear, and MG2: Solid Snake! @_@ (included with PS2's MGS3:subsistence)

Been playin mainly MG as I wanna do them in order, and I must say, it's pretty good for being a 1987 nintendo game. Up, down, left, right... fun!

Only problem is that I'm stuck at a certain spot and gotta find something that doesn't exist. (maybe it's a glitch, but I've covered EVERY area available with my current card numbers) Oh well...

though, it would be easier if the walkthroughs I've read covered my version of the game. But... they don't.

Omg. It's been a few months and I still can't progress through these games. They must have added some stupid glitch in the process of bringing it to the PS2.

That's pretty fiendish. Are the games vastly different from walkthroughs?

Keith on August 6th, 2006 at 3:41:22 AM

Yeah! I could read Gamespot forums and I'm sure I'd find out what to do, but... all the walkthroughs I've read seem to be different. For instance - In MG I had already played through the spot where it said the blast suit was (need a blast suit to parachute off of the windy roof) but there was nothing there. I went back 30 times and nothing is in that room. Need I start over? *sigh* Luckily I already have the parachute. But I can't use it yet.

And in MG2 - I'm at the Doctor's cell in the jungle where he seems to be tapping Morse code or something. The Colonel tells me to refer to the game manual, but - I don't have one specifically for MG2. Even if I knew what he was saying, there's no way to get into his cell. (I stalked that oblivious guard all the way through the jungle for nothing!)

Ok phew! I finally got the frequency for the guy in the cell. (Turned out it wasn't doctor Marv, but Dr. Petrovitch Madnar! So now I must travel north to a tower where Dr. Marv should be) Except - now I'm stuck at this stupid boss "the running man" (doesn't look like Arnold) in a room full of nerve gas. And I can't keep up with him. I need claymore mines or something to set as a trap but... I have none.

So now I go all the way back through the swamp maze, past the jungle, and sneak my way around the base again to try and find some mines.

But I'm still stuck in MG. 8(

Funny. The second time I decided to play through MGS, the Sniper Rifle actually never spawned, and well....You cant progress if the sniper rifle isn't there since it is sorta a cue for the game to progress..

I was gonna ask a stupid question but obviously you knew where to go to get it if it was your second time....

that's pretty gay though. Hasn't happened with my copy at all but doesn't mean it won't.
