Scoria on September 15th, 2005 at 6:35:58 AM

Hey, there. If you have any suggestions that you feel might improve subVariance, please remember that we're always listening. :-)

drpfenderson on September 15th, 2005 at 9:21:48 AM

Isn't everyone new to subVariance? Heh.

Anyways - My name is Eris. (Yes...It is. Don't argue with me.)

I've been in the web-design business for 7 years running. I also create logos and other graphics - freelance.

I love photomanipulation, music is my lifeblood, and I adore books.

Scoria on September 15th, 2005 at 9:28:34 AM

I'm not entirely new to subVariance. ;-)

I'm Trey, and I began taking photographs with a Minolta SLR. Eventually, I adopted digital. Most recently, I've been using a Sony DSC-F828.

Aside from photography and software engineering, my other interests include boating, exotic tropical fish, and German cars.

If you ever have a chance, I'd enjoy seeing some of your Web-based productions!

bakerstreet on September 15th, 2005 at 9:38:53 AM

Howdie =)

Been in and out of graphics for years. Some may know me from the old days in skinning. Looking forward to seeing how this site goes.

Scoria on September 15th, 2005 at 9:48:03 AM

Welcome to subVariance. We can't wait to see how this community matures, either!

drpfenderson on September 15th, 2005 at 9:48:47 AM

I've only been boating once, and I almost died - so not so good of an experience.

Anyways - I created ZanthriaCOM (http://www.zanthria.com) from the ground up, design-wise. The software I use (sBLOG), I am a template designer and beta-tester for. The site is only up for archival purposes right now seeing as I am seeking new hosting.

There used to be a matching discussion board, which was a custom modded version of punBB. The gallery (http://www.zanthria.com/gallery) also uses a template of my design.

I have created a few templates for both the sBLOG blogging system and the punBB forum software:

http://www.punres.org/files/styles/st_1/index.php />
http://punres.org/files/styles/st_37/index.php />

And the style Cornflower for sBLOG:

http://servous.se/?c=styles />

...which isn't up right now due to not being compatible with the brand-new version. I havn't had time in the past few days to do that. *blushes*

Anyways, also done some work for postNuke, SMF forums, and phpBB - but that was so long ago.

Right now I'm working on a skin for the Last.FM service.

drpfenderson on September 15th, 2005 at 9:51:17 AM

bakerstreet - Got any links to your work? I'd love to see it.

carvingwaves on September 15th, 2005 at 9:54:00 AM

hello i am andrew and i love this site :-)

Scoria on September 15th, 2005 at 9:59:29 AM

erissiva,

Being the minimalist that I so often am, I like your work. It's very clean.

drpfenderson on September 15th, 2005 at 10:08:03 AM

Scoria - Thanks. I am an ultra-minimalist. Both in my music and in my design. I hate a cluttered interface. Makes it difficult for users. That's one reason I am so attracted to your site.

carvingwaves - Welcome! (hands a plate of brownies)

WildBill on September 15th, 2005 at 10:22:51 AM

I'm not new, but I figure I may as well introduce myself. I'm William. I've been into web design (though I don't think I'm very good at it), programming, and I'm now getting into photography. Glad to meet you all!

frizzzzle on September 15th, 2005 at 10:51:00 AM

I here be Ryan.

I've not been a member of a digital arts community before, since I'm not very prolific. But I do like discussion and looking at pretty pictures, which seem both be growing here. I think I'll stick around awhile

Kostika on September 15th, 2005 at 3:57:08 PM

I'm Kostika and I've jsut found the site, but I'll be moving my whole gallery here from another art community very soon. (I'm at work right now)

I'm a photographer. I use both digital and film cameras so expect a variety of work from me with more coming all the time.

Sullivan on September 15th, 2005 at 8:36:58 PM

Thought I'd make note that the above post was by Sullivan, since it looks like my handle didn't attach itself to the post title. ;)

Brian on September 15th, 2005 at 8:54:37 PM

I think you've found an interesting little bug in the system! I've added t to my mental list of things I need to fix.

rush68 on September 16th, 2005 at 1:49:30 AM

Hi, I'm rush. I dabble in anything art wise that I can possibly get my hands on/do. I also run the rush68 network ( http://rush68.net ), a small attempt at trying to provide a hosting solution to various people who want real domain and or user hosting for free.

Scoria on September 16th, 2005 at 2:36:26 AM

Welcome! I like your fractal.

Barrett on September 16th, 2005 at 4:24:25 AM

Hi, I just joined today and I'm already in love with the simple design and fast loads along with everything else. Names Barrett, I like photography and I hope to be at least a part of this sweet community.

My name's Ben, and I'm awesome.

mEMPHISaRTgUY on September 16th, 2005 at 2:57:45 PM

I'm Memphis Art Guy a.K.a. Dru Morgan

I'm an Artist for real.

I graduated Memphis College of Art "Before you start Laughing, I worked my way through college being the tech guy every one came to, so I got an education better than most grad-schools have".

If you looked at my gallery, you will see I'm into all medias from Computer genrated animations to developing my own negeitives and prints. I draw which is also the correct word for what most people call PAINT, there is no such thing as painting. Yes this might be an old school way of thinking, but painting and drawing is the same thing, people thing the meterials involve calls for the change of status. Bull sh*t, its drawing just as you would do with layers of conte'.

Anyway if your intrtested in any thing just ask, I love to do experiments.

mindfire on September 16th, 2005 at 4:35:49 PM

Hello Hello

My name's Chris, I'm from North East England, and I'm quite varied in my art, I can go from pencil to camera, vector to paint... anything

Came here as an alternative to DeviantArt, and lets hope it keeps getting better and that I hope I'll be able to help out in some way.

Anyways, I'm a very musical person, nearly all of my art will be musically oriented. I love my music, I love gigs, I love guitars and basses and drums and keyboards and... everything... (I'm a bassist).

Scoria on September 16th, 2005 at 11:48:53 PM

Welcome to subVariance, Dru! Be sure to let us know if you spot any room for improvement.

Miguel on September 17th, 2005 at 12:03:51 AM

I'm no art fiend, nor do I think I can draw or anything, although I will attempt it at some point when I get another scanner, but well, Briface has an awesome website and I am happy to be a small part of it.

My name's Miguel, and you'll probably see me talking more about sports or video games than art, but well, I love some of the art on the site, especially skulldozer's Death w/ soul bubbles image. It rocks. There are other awesome ones who I didn't get a chance to see the name of though, who will get recognition at some point. Later everyone

BTW, if I do ever draw anything anytime soon, it will probably be a drawing of one of my fav baseball players.
