Are there any multilinguists around?

Hi,

Would anybody be interested in helping me translate subVariance to languages other than English? I'm currently developing a model by which we can hopefully expand our international support!

Best regards,

Trey

I guess it all depends on what you need done, I'm far from fluent, but I used to know some spanish. If you're just looking for someone to help translate a few minor things, I could probably find someone to collaborate with and get that done. I'm not too sure if I trust my ability to translate large pieces of text, but I could see what I can do. Time, unfortunately is another constraint (school and two jobs)

Unfortunately the only languages I know are English and American and how to swear (a little) in German and Dutch.

I speak almost-fluent Spanish. I'm able to write it good too.

Why didn't you ask me fooface?

Scoria on October 1st, 2005 at 3:02:26 PM

I'm asking everybody, including you! ;-)

I'm almost fluent in Spanish as well, but I think it would be better to get a nice set of features first.

Also, how will different languages interact? Do we want replys to our art in croation? or do we expect them to not say anything?

I'm sure I'll have some free time to do a bit of translating, I already do it for Erin anyway. I might as well be everyone's slave.

My native language is Spanish. I can translate the major stuff, but not do 'maintaince translations' ...there's too many projects I have, and honestly I don't want to be responsible for the mantainence of a website that I'm not fully comitted to.

"the only languages I know are English and American"

what the hell is an "American" language?

Keith on November 9th, 2005 at 11:26:14 PM

It's when you don't include random u's in certain words that don't need them. You know, the language they speak in the US of A.

elvenmuse,

I know and understand the feeling of having too many projects and not enough time!

im fluent in both russian and english

Scoria on January 4th, 2006 at 8:41:09 PM

That's excellent! I'll be releasing language files with our next software revision, by the way, should you all decide to contribute. We will, of course, provide any contributors with appropriate credit. :-)

My sister, (alphacygni) is fluent in French! I bet she would love to help out.

Katie on July 3rd, 2006 at 9:42:15 AM

I'd be willing to help out when I'm not busy helping freshmen with their French

Scoria on July 4th, 2006 at 7:38:29 PM

We're actually going to be distributing language template files when we release the new version of our software. They should make the translation process much easier, as a translator will only need to translate the phrases directly and save the file in a text editor.

Thank you for your offer! ;-)
