Is it me or...
* (n.) A division of a variety.
Perhaps?
1. As erissiva mentioned, subvariety is the division of a variety. Every piece of submitted artwork is unique; hence, a subVariance.
2. The name promotes confusion, and was used because it seemed "cool." ;-)
(Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

I'll provide two answers to your question. You must decide which one is true:1. As erissiva mentioned, subvariety is the division of a variety. Every piece of submitted artwork is unique; hence, a subVariance.
2. The name promotes confusion, and was used because it seemed "cool." ;-)

Is it me or... does the community's name mean "below/less variance"? Isn't that... not the most ideal thing to name an art related thing? When you think of large groups of artists, you think of VARIETY.Perhaps sub is supposed to mean transcending? I really can't figure this one out
