A border
Rather than apply a universal standard that everyone has to like, we removed borders to allow the artist to have more control over the visual rendering of their work.

I highly disagree. What if someone applied their own border? Would you make borders to every piece of art one color? All art is different.Brian on December 6th, 2009 at 4:01:31 PM
We had borders in all past versions of the site and they received a substantial amount of negative feedback. Lots of users felt that they detracted from their work, boxing it in, or clashing with things. Meanwhile, many other users choose to apply their own borders which are tailored to their work, and the double border was quite ugly.Rather than apply a universal standard that everyone has to like, we removed borders to allow the artist to have more control over the visual rendering of their work.

hey, a suggestion for Vinovas, I think the pictures look like they are just floating around at the moment. I think a border around images would make it more establisged, I think it looks messy at the moment. Ta!
