Kiera had woken to the sound of the bedroom door slamming closed and the lock clicking into place. For a long moment she sat with the bed clothes pulled tight against her until she saw the shadowy form moving toward her. “My lord?” She breathed, praying with every ounce of her that it was only him.
The white tiger stopped to stare at her, the piercing blue eyes all too familiar. “Kiera...” It was his voice, yet deeper.
“My lord...” Kiera was off the bed in an instant, kneeling before the snow white beast, her fingers shaking violently as she reached out to him. “What have they done to you?”
