Just something I did for fun with a somewhat different style. It's still a WIP but it has been on the shelf for a while so I thought I would post it to see if I get any reactions.

Pen, Pencil, Caligraphy paper, PSP8 (fade correction), Time, Magic.

i ADORE this. i think if you do decide to finish it, keeping it simple and flat, rather than shading the "body" to look realistic and 3D. it's very mod-ish, yet incredibly surreal.

might i ask what inspired you to do this one?

i love the rats coming from his outline

I actually haven't done anything to this since I posted it since, to be honest, I really like that it's flat and I was aiming for it to be mod-ish but I wasn't sure if I quite accomplished that or not since I hadn't gotten any feedback on it.

What inspired me to do this piece (quite possibly one of my favourite Plague Doctor pieces that I've done so far) was the general view people had/have concerning the plague. Whenever I look at art concerning the plague, be it a modern piece or a period piece, there's almost always rats in it it seems (that and skeletons) and the Plague Doctor is another somewhat popular (though entirely more gruesome) symbol of the plague and the thought of combining the two as a representation or 'spirit' came to me. Plus I had been wanting to go in a sort of 'nouveau' direction with a Plague Doctor for a while and this is what came of it.

And thank you, the rats are my favourite part and their little bony tails, of course. I was a bit uneasy about the rats at first because I wasn't sure if people would be able to tell right off what they were.
