Description:
Something I made from first year that I couldn't submit because it was up at city center campus for a really long time.
A fauvist painting directly referencing a collage from images I found in magazines with two things that suggest each other in form. I chose DNA and stairs. Sorry for the bad explanation. I could have made the image quality a little better, had it in a better condition when photographing and not cropped it as awkwardly.
The image is supposed to consider the possibility for exposing layers you may have painted underneath and repainted to show variety and interesting depth... basically a new way of painting instead of being like "I don't like this" and essentially painting sections in one colour and starting over.
If anyone knows of an easy way in Photoshop to get rid of the flashy gloss spot that one often sees from a camera I would really appreciate it. I know evenly distributed lighting, etc. for taking pictures, but sometimes if a painting is REALLY glossy it's next to impossible to photograph without a shiny spot somewhere.
Media:
Acrylic paint, collage, randomness.
